Jason Reid  Director, Co-Producer, Editor

I have worked in film and video production in Seattle, where I was born and raised, for the last 7 years. I attended the University of Washington and graduated with distinction in 2000 with a double major in Cinema Studies and Comparative Literature. I now own my own production company, 2R Productions, and work with companies such as Microsoft, Costco, and Nordstrom regularly. In regards to creative projects, over the last 5 years I have amassed a large body of work consisting of a feature film, short narrative films, documentaries, and music videos, which I have produced, directed, and/or edited. Ian Connors  Cinematographer, Co-Producer

For the past three years I have worked on a number of projects with Ian Connors, another filmmaker from Seattle. Just recently we received three 2008 Telly awards for Critical 72, a short instructional film that he directed and I produced for the Oregon Burn Center. Ian received his training as a combat cameraman in the military for 8 years. He has traveled and filmed all over the world including Bosnia, Croatia, S. Korea, Kuwait, and Iraq, to name a few. He also studied filmmaking at Syracuse University and the Seattle Film Institute. He was born and raised in Washington State and has become one of this area’s best cinematographers. He owns his own production company, 8Rivers Films, and has completed a number of large budget marketing and training videos, short documentaries, and narrative films. He has also documented several stories for the Discovery Channel and covered Northwest Medical Teams International in New Orleans during the Hurricane Katrina disaster. He is an avid bicyclist, completing the Seattle to Portland twice, as well as competing in adventure racing in Texas. He will be providing generous in kind donations to the project in the form of services and equipment rental.

Sean Wellnitz  Route, GIS Specialist

Sean was born and raised in Seattle and brings a wealth of geography training to the table. He graduated from the University of Washington with a B.S. in Geographic Information Systems, focusing his studies on emergency response and disaster preparedness. He has worked for the last five years for the Seattle Fire Department in their GIS department and has also done work for the Washington State Department of Ecology as a GIS Specialist/Project lead. Sean has always embraced adventure in everything he does. He has worked as a commercial fisherman in Alaska, a river rafting guide in Washington and Oregon, and volunteered more than 1700 hours of time to AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps. He taught English in Rayong, Thailand for six months in 2002 and he and I took a week-long bicycle tour across the Czech Republic last April. His navigation skills and intensity will be vital contributions to the success of the trip.

Kevin Griffin

Kevin was also born and raised in Seattle. With over eight years of experience as a sushi chef, he has always held an interest in studying Asian/Japanese cuisine and culture. He has gone on multiple extended trips in Japan and has long been interested in learning more about China. He has also traveled extensively, particularly in Mexico (over 15 trips), where he has gone on adventurous trips to many remote areas of the country. After playing a year of college football in Ohio, Kevin moved to Bend, Oregon and continued his education while snowboarding full time at Mt. Bachelor. He then moved to Boulder, Colorado, where he began his sushi apprenticeship and became an avid cyclist. After spending over four years there, Kevin moved to San Diego, and has since become lead Sushi Chef for the Hyatt at one of the city's best sushi restaurants. He now commutes via bicycle 32 miles a day, has completed numerous century rides, and has competed in multiple triathalons (both sprint and olympic distances).
